We had a big cull in 2020 when we retired and moved to Florida. We are down to 2 x four shelfs and a small three shelf and small piles in various places. I volunteer at St Vincent De Paul and I buy a book there almost every week. It won't be long and we will be buried again.

Love this! I recognize many of the books, and probably would not have kept the encyclopedias, myself. I wonder about your cataloging system, though. It doesn't appear to be alphabetic by author or collections by topic. Do you have a system?

Right now, I'm not organizing the books yet, as I haven't finished with all the shelves yet. Eventually, it will be by general topic... but also book size, just due to practicality.

The encyclopedias are sets from 1974 that my dad bought the year I was born. I will definitely keep the Science encyclopedia set, because I like keeping out-of-date books to see what "top-of-the-line" knowledge was at various points and how it's changed. I have a bunch of old actuarial and insurance texts that I plan on scanning. (Just got a top-of-the-line book scanner)
