It's not like these guys got wealthy by accident.

But it's not merely higher taxes -- it's higher taxes, and all the other things going on. Plenty of other locales with lower taxes... but other aspects that aren't quite as attractive.

2020-2021 made places such as NYC & Chicago much less attractive. And I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers for the 2021-2022 migration will look even worse for those places.

The love of money in effect? It will interesting to see what eventually happens in Florida.

There are all sorts of issues with Florida as a location, and not just because it's a filled-in swamp. [you can tell I'm not enamored of Florida]

I grew up in Georgia & the Carolinas, and all those states are hurricane magnets, but less so than Florida. The issue is that you've got these buildings in high-risk areas re: hurricanes and you get politics involved in property insurance. That's one thing. [see also: California & other western states re: fire perils in property insurance]

Tennessee has also been popular as a low-tax destination, but Nashville can hold only so many people. ;)
