Let’s just jump into it.
New Substack: Sumo Stats
I do love sumo, but I realized that my fellow sumo fans may not be all that interested in following mortality trends or public finance issues.
So, announcing: Sumo Stats!
Here are my first two real posts:
New scatterplot:
Over the next three days, archiving posts will be coming up pulling all my old sumo posts from STUMP.
Going forward, I’ll be posting all my sumo stuff over at Sumo Stats…. (and I’ll be cross-linking over here in posts like this).
Movember Check-In
It’s early on. But it’s not zero…
Here is my fundraising post to remind the motivation — there will be more posts on recent prostate cancer mortality.
To donate — multiple methods.

Memento Mori
This past week was All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day. So that brings up the standard Memento Mori concept.
Prior posts on Memento Mori:

So here is an All Souls Day Mass at St. John Cantius in Chicago this year: Link to the video (it will not embed) - it starts about 15 minutes in (it had been a livestream).
The Mass uses Mozart’s Requiem as its music, and it’s nice to hear the music being used as part of the Mass, appropriately. The violins (or maybe the violas… my ear is not that good) could use some work, but the choir was just fine.
And a little less serious take on Memento Mori:
See y’all!
