I see what you're saying in that post, and somebody else pointed that out to me re: % of the Pneumonia & Influenza deaths that were Influenza.
There are some interacting factors there, partly due to most of these deaths being of older people -- and the shifting mix of causes of death in those ages. I'm seeing some odd trends there (especially with falls.... hmmmm)

I would say the major interacting factor is testing
