In a time of coronavirus

Okay, enough hilarity — while I’m waiting for opera, it’s Taxing Tuesday!

Today’s Taxing Tuesday is subtitled “A break from coronavirus”, but it’s not really. Only one of the items, an op-ed that tore apart Bernie Sanders’s tax proposal, has nothing to do with coronavirus… because it’s from a couple weeks ago. I just hadn’t run it yet.

Here is something from a Tax Foundation piece:

What’s not on this graph is how much of state revenue comes from each source…. well, maybe that’s for a future week. I do know that corporate income taxes are an extremely small source of revenue for states.

As ever, Taxing Tuesday has tax news stories and tax tweets… and yes, most of them involve coronavirus, even if only indirectly.
