You have a great argument for why men (especially) should take Social Security retirement benefits at age 62 instead of waiting until the "full retirement age" of 70.
As things currently stand, one can still get screwed by taking benefits early -- from taxes.
To be sure, various people (including Trump) are trying to change the tax situation re: Social Security.
That said, I told Stu to take benefits ASAP... because he was going to die young (which he did.) For both men & women who are in poor health, claiming early is often a good idea.
